Whatever rig you choose, Scintilla will surprise you with a sparkling performance - her long keel, fine underwater lines and a long run to her graceful counter stern equates to a steady helm and an easy motion, even in confused seas. Scintilla will track straight, even if you have to leave the helm.
Drawing only 2 feet, and with no centreboard, she’s both easy to launch, and gives full windward performance right into the shallows.
Most owners choose the lug rigged yawl option for its controllability - roller reefing on the genoa and a topping lift on the mizzen allow delicate manoeuvres to be undertaken with ease.
Auxiliary power can be electric or diesel inboard or petrol outboard. Even a diesel inboard virtually disappears under the cockpit sole.
Ease of control, generous beam, and wide side decks all add to safety, as does the extremely tough method of construction, which also forms multiple water tight compartments along the length of the whole boat.
